Play Therapy

Play is the work of the child

Maria Montessori

What is Play Therapy?

Play therapy is a medium to assist with communication and the processing of emotions. Children can express what they struggle to say through play. With play therapy, children can discover different ways of understanding and coping with difficult emotions.

Play therapy is also helpful for parents, carers, and other adults providing care to children in providing skills to support your child.

Why attend Play Therapy?

Some of the potential benefits seen in children who have attended play therapy are:

  • learning to fully experience and express feelings

  • improving social skills

  • growing confidence, self-respect and improving anxiety

  • developing empathy and respect for others

  • learning coping strategies and creative problem-solving skills

  • stronger family relationships
